Those kids are now eighty years old! Hope they're still barefoot.
Of course they're not. They'd be like the older folks I meet on a trail when I'm hiking barefoot: "Oh, I used to go everywhere barefoot as a kid. I could even run on gravel . . . but I could never do that now."
Hear that all the time and was assuming that as well. Most common "reasons" are : Too tender now, PF, " My husband won't let me", "I have to wear orthotics ". They never knew just how lucky they were.
