Tree climbing

It's a Blue Atlas Cedar.

Great pics! Where is this set up?

Not to be a fuss pot, but if you're doing work in the tree, a hardhat might be a good accessory.

I just wonder how you got those lines set in the first place!

Thank you, I think you are spot on.

It is growing in my backyard.

Good call. Will stay on the safe side next time.

That is easy. I just throw a brick with a rope attached to it over a branch first and climb that rope up. Once in the canopy the rest is a piece of cake.
I try not to do any damage to the bark when anchoring the ropes:

brilliant!
I haven't climbed a proper tree in years, though did manage a mango tree in Brazil which was fun.

Something I noticed in Brazil was how people would prune the palm trees by climbing barefoot, gives them great grip on the trunk while they're able to leave both hands free to saw off the dead growth.
Some of those trees were impressively tall, talking in excess of ten meters!

I'm looking to start bouldering this year to try and strengthen a dodgy shoulder and upper body. I used to love climbing trees, i know it's an older thread but thanks for sharing, i missed it before.
