My sister sent me this article. Well like I said in the title!

This paragraph is doubly false:

As it turns out, barefooting has the opposite effect: A 2013 study published in Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise found that runners who transitioned to minimalist shoes were more vulnerable to stress fractures in their feet than runners who continued to run with more support. A class action lawsuit followed, resulting in a multi-million dollar settlement against Vibram, one of the top manufacturers of minimalist shoes.

First, the Vibram lawsuit preceded the study. And Vibram lost it because they made claims that were beyond the research of the time, not because of any injuries.

Second, those runners really didn't "transition" to minimalist shoes. They were given no training in how to run minimalist, so they kept using their old stomping gaits.

Bleh.

Goes to show the quality of that rag! No research done obviously! Should have posted it in the Pub! If Paul or TJ want to move it, feel free!
