Mileage reporting week 13 of 2015

I managed to do last Monday's intended run today! 13.25 barefoot miles around Central Park at about 8 m/m pace. Not working hard enough to perspire into my HR strap so I didn't record heart rate at all. It was a beautiful morning with clear blue skies but the air temperature was about -5C and there was a 15mph wind.

I always dampen my strap either side of the middle to get it working. It seems to stop working when the middle part gets wet with sweat :(

Until today I had too! It was an experiment to see if I was sweating more than I realised. I've not experienced the other issue yet

5 days and 33 miles last week. 2 days off because of stupid snow and a bit of laziness on Saturday afternoon when I could have run.

7 miles today, one of those runs where the legs felt lively and I ran on the fast side of easy early and got down to around tempo pace near the end. It's one of those runs that makes you feel good and cocky. By the time I got home I was almost thinking, "That's it! I'll never run slower than 9 minutes per mile pace again!" Yeah, right. Tomorrow the legs will be a bit tired and it'll be good to put some easy relaxing miles in.

Monday: six miles with some miles repeats.
Tuesday: five slower miles.

I know how that goes but I do force myself to run slow is good for my lazy hiney. Nice mileage!

Rain last night left small puddles here and there around the lake. Though I didn't hit all of them along my 5 mile course this morning, i did get quite a few. Glorious.

Love running puddles, what was the temp?

sunday: the usual route, between 3 and 4 miles, then weights at the gym in the afternoon
monday: evening walk was all I had time for
tuesday: tried out the Luna sandals today (got them in the mail monday night and didn't even realize). They are ok so far. I don't know if they are $90 of ok. Fussed with the straps the first mile or two, then got through about 4 full miles. A few ST exercises at home, and a walk w the kids tonight.

Seems the linings of my lungs are now more susceptible to having cold viruses settle there, as evidenced by the sharp pains of pleurisy this past Sunday. So, I took 3 days off, since I had such a hard time fighting it in November-December last. Then I went for a 6 mile run yesterday that felt very good, although I did need to sleep about 10 hours last night. Happy to say, no more lung pain with breathing so far, but I don't think I'll get in my long run this week. I have 2 months until the 13.1 event I'm planning, so I think it should be fine.

Hope your felling better Songbird.

So far this week a 4 1/2 mile run Tuesday evening quick, then 9 1/2 mile run yesterday. Still working up slowly back to my normal distance/pace from my winter lull. Working dayshift today through Sunday so not sure if I'll get another run in, but maybe something short now that its light out in the evening when I get home.

I have asthma (although not exercise induced), and am prone to bronchitis, so I know the feeling of lungs being "off" on some days.
Be careful on the long runs. I have returned from a few with a distinct blueish color to my skin. I think one can get used to low level oxygen deprivation in a weird way, but it's probably not a good idea.
Sympathies.

A bf mile run each day on Tuesday and Wednesday. On Friday, I ran five miles. My recoveries don't entail as much discomfort as before but my feet and ankles still get stiff after I sit for a while. Maybe it will continue to get better?? I am stretching a bit before and after each run.
Fear not - it will. You are doing fine!
