Strength Training for Singles 2014: Eight-Week Workout Cycle II

Plus I hate running in Chicago maybe I should hit up BA to find me some trails.

i'm downstate, so i would be relying on "clicking around" to find things which is no more efficient that you clicking around when you actually know where you're going and what you like. the only trail i have direct knowledge of in chicagoland is, of course, the des plaines river trail which is pretty nice. but, if you want to drive south for 2 1/2 or 3 hours, i'd be happy to go on a run with you. :)

in other news, i ran across this and found it amusing. i'm sure it's old news.

as far as i can tell, lon kilgore is mark rippetoe's partner in crime when it comes to moving the discussion from"broscience" into "nearly respectable science", right? basically, he literally says "marshmallows on your feet probably aren't the smartest idea for achieving any objective you might have in running". he comes down on the side of "less is more" but all his thought (and real) experiments are based on taking your shoes completely off.

Just skimmed it, but it makes me feel more comfortable to have adopted a lot of what he and Rippetoe have said about strength-training, knowing that they are also providing a voice of reason with regards to footwear and running.

Edit: I got in one more workout today for Cycle II, and wrote up a Cycle II Summary. I posted the new thread for Cycle III because I found a statement forming in my head and thought I mis' well write it down.
