Hi,

I got a leg tattoo yesterday (outside calf) and I wonder what's a reasonable pause before resuming running, assuming healing is going on normally.

It's been a day today, swelling is gone, it's painful to the touch but not otherwise. The skin still feels "pulled" when I walk.

Are there any medical reasons I shouldn't run if it feels OK?

Would love some feedback. Thanks!

Ok, I know I'm not at doc, please forgive me TJ, but as a guy with lots of tats, my wait would be however long it took to drive home, from tattoo shop!

Lol, thanks for weighing in Bill!

Actually, the first two days were pretty tough with this one, but it now feels fine and I'm ready to resume. Just a question for you: what do you do to avoid clothes rubbing on the tat when you run? It's too cold for me to leave the tattoo uncovered.

Try loose fitting track pants. Make sure they have no elastic on the bottom of the pant leg. I have used a thin layer of Vaseline too.
BTW, what did you get?
