On the 13. 10 km and one week later half marathon.
I'm very used to running by myself, and really enjoy being outside alone, running. So i'm curious as to how I'll feel surrounded be lots of people on runs.
The 10k i'll do barefoot. It's a 50/50% gravel/asphalt route which I've run several times.
The 1/2marathon is pure asphalt and I suspect I'll be needing my Vivos for the finish.
Being a recreational runner I don't really have any time goals. I usually do 10k in 50-55 minutes. Enjoying the run is what matters most to me.
I wonder how many "he' s barefoot" comments I'll hear ☺

As long as you're not wearing earbuds you'll hear several comments, including "Hard core",
" Barefoot ", and "Did you see that?"
Have fun, I never ran with anyone until my first race, now I almost never run alone.

And as is the case with most things involving bare feet, they will either expect you to be:

I can't believe how many people exclaimed "they're barefoot" when Lara and I ran a 5k this weekend. First, it was "she's barefoot", then "he's barefoot too" a moment later. I didn't really hear much more than that--no rude comments or remarks. It was actually pretty encouraging and motivating to hear everyone that noticed us. I do recall seeing a bunch of surprised looks on the volunteers, especially the cheerleaders. This was a big race--probably 750 people, and tons of volunteers, including police/EMT support along the course, so we were seen by many people and it didn't bother me. Of course, this was only my second barefoot 5k race (in the last 2 years.)

Thanks for the advice. I've decided to drool while running, occasionally I might emit a high pitched joy squeel.
