1:59, The Sub-Two-Hour Marathon Is Within Reach

Do you think he could help me break my 33 minute 5K barrier?

OK, I'll bite Dama. How?

First run a flat route and see how long it takes you to finish the route(focus on time not distance)
Then find a hilly route and make it your regular running route untill it becomes easier.
Find a nice set of stairs and do stair repeats once a week.
Then after about three months of that go back to the flat route to see your improvement.:barefoot:
You're welcome!

PS
I did try the Muffy method but my body didn't like it:happy: .

I like your style Dama. The town I live in has hills in all directions. My PB of 33:32 was done 18 miles up the motorway at the Newport Wetlands. (There is an 8 mile road race run in that area each year renowned as 'The Flattest Race on Earth.') I was just thinking today that I should go back there on Saturday and have another go at 33 minutes :)
.

So you're running hills then so all you have to do now is stair repeats and you'll be all set:).
I think you should go and give the 33 min 5K another try, and who knows, you might surprise yourself:happy:.

Fastest barefoot marathon I found was Shivnath Singh 2:12:00 India's national record holder. So 12:01 minutes need to be chopped off to break 2 hours.
That kinda assumes that his barefoot 2:12:00 marathon is some kind of record...when in reality we don't know what can be done barefoot, because the best runners support their extended family from shoe contracts.

About the time big money and sponsorship deals came into athletics times started stalling.
Very few races these days are pure and without constraint, there's just too much at stake and a lot to loose if an athlete blows out chasing a record.

I personally believe that the 2hour barrier will go at some point but I doubt it will be down to a method of training more a combination of things

And that's what Dr. Phil says too.

Can digital Kindle books be downloaded to any device these days?

I have Kindle on my iPhone and on my Android tablet TJ

Thanks. I'm guessing someone can download a Kindle book to their laptop then?

Just to let you know I had a go at my PB in the flatlands this morning Dama. Didn't quite manage it. Still 30 seconds off. Good to know I'm back to close after my hernia though :) Time for those stairs repeats! ;)

For those of you who haven't read anything from Maffetone directly, you can get one of his books free on amazon. The Healthy Golfer. It's about going bf to improve your game, changing your diet, and getting good endurance. If you want more in depth training get TBBETR.

You expect me to waste money on a book titled "1:59?"

If Maffetone wanted this book to be taken seriously, he should have put something less crazy on the cover. In this case, it's fair to judge it by that. It's hype and gimmickry.
Yes.

What would you have liked to see on the cover?
