Mileage reporting 33rd week of 2014

Tuesday - 7.2km in the rain with people from work. One of them wanted to do intervals, so we ran at her pace 2 minutes on and one off. The fast pace was an easy pace for me so it wasn't too bad, but I'm not sure that I enjoyed the really slow bits all that much. I'm a 'just run' kind of guy at heart.

Today, morning beach run, 8.25km. My GPS failed me and thought I was on a treadmill, so I kept seeing numbers like 3.30 min/km flashing up on my watch, which was good for a laugh.

5 mile run at 4:45 am.
Still warm 81 deg. 70% rh
really enjoyed todays outing.

Monday - 20 miles didn't go too bad, all things considered

Tuesday - all day in the hospital with my mom and dad. Given the diagnosis this evening that she has an aggressive brain cancer and is estimated to have 3-4 months to live. I need to keep running and she is very supportive about my marathon training, but I am wondering if it is going to work to run one in October at this point. We are in decent enough spirits, but this kind of stuff still wipes a body out. Sigh. Maybe I'll know better after a good night's sleep.

My vote is to keep running...there are times in life where whats needed is to just keep putting one foot in front of the other, distance running makes that easier....a lot easier.

Blessings to you and your family HSB :)

There is an old Buddhist saying: "The best gift a person can get, is knowledge of their own death, because it makes every moment a living Grace."

Sorry to hear that HSB, hope you get to spend some quality time with her over the next few months.

Tuesday, ran 12.5km/7.8mi and today did 13.8km/8.6mi.

My feet are really going well, considering it is still winter here, but the first few km's are always difficult.

Looking forward to Spring, which should be just around the corner !!

Another 12.7km/7.9mi today, in my local park.

It has a nice and stable track of about 2.6km/1.6mi. I did 4 loops (slow/fast/slow/fast), and the promising thing is that I can bring down my HR (below 80%) after a fast lap, in less than 2min.

About 4 miles today.

I love running, if I didn't have a job, I think I'd go Forest Gump, maybe I'll win the lottery lol :)

That would be a funny story:

Wud ya do win ya won that 100 million dollars: "I went running, all day every day".

3km barefoot run on pavement. It was cool today with a temperature at 12C with a cloudy sky and some rain this morning. I set out for a 2.25km run but everything was going well so I went on for longer. No apparent damage to feet or legs. I do miss running 10km runs though...

Monday - 12 mile sandal run on rough road and trail.
Tuesday - 13 miles shod. 4 miles of rare pavement running, the rest gravel road.
Wednesday - 10 miles shod. My brother's first real trail run. He is a marathon runner and yes he has me beat at that distance. I'll have to be sure to take him on some nasty terrain to discourage him.:)
Thursday - 20 miles shod. High altitude run/hike with a friend that is doing the 100 mile race that I couldn't get in. I'll have to experience the race through him. Average elevation of 10,000-11,000 ft. After the run he is convinced I am part mountain goat (a compliment I guess?).
Friday - 12 sandal miles. Short 2 mile runs throughout the day.

No barefoot miles this week:(.

Going to post that this week is over so I will not be tempted to run. Could use a rest day and get some work done!

Wed - short run local roads

Thurs - lower body ST workout

Fri - short run local roads

Today - long run at Tribble Mill park...started later than normal as it was hi 70's - lo 80's and sunny...6 laps around the bigger lake 17.1 miles to make 42 miles for the week. Had to zig and zag into the grass some the last 2 laps as the pavement was heating up on the sunny stretches.
