Hi all
I made the transition to barefoot/ vibrams about a year ago, I used to get to about 8/9 miles is trainers but at that milage I started to get knee problems and after some googling I thought I would give barefoot/minimalist ago..
I have now done a tough mudder in vibrams and a couple of half marathons and am booked to run the Brighton in 2015 and contemplating the hadrian's wall ultra ( over two days) in 2016
I mainly run with vibrams as I have broken a toe many years ago and it always gets blood blisters on it as it has no control and just flops about .
Any advice to increase mileage without injury would be appreciated.

Do it slowly. Changing or adding too quickly is what causes injuries.

Cut out the racing until you feel your form is dialed in. Get help if you need it with your form and your body. Making sure your not running with small muscle imbalances that will become huge later from the repetitve stress of running. Don't be in such a hurry to cover long distances. It takes time to build up to them. Rush it and risk stress fractures.
Good luck to you. Remember, sometimes less is more.
