Don't forget to 'LIVE EASY & MINIMAL'

As someone with absurdly wide feet can attest, $125 for a pair of shoes is not at all unreasonable - provided they're decent quality and fit properly.

A pair of these is on my "to look into" list, so it's nice to hear what other's experiences have been to help with that.

Price is due to a small production facility run by a small business catering to a small niche market.

Nike, Adidas, etc, have monopoly power and massive economies of scale, yet their shoes are still pricey, and even more so!

You know I would probably drop that on a running shoe but for a work/casual shoe I think its too much. I don't know maybe I would buy these at a store if I could try them on, but online I kind of expect things to be a little less?

Seems like any minishoe worth anything is pricey. $65 for minimalist sandals, 100+ for decent shoes. Only cheap ones i've scored were merrels (much bigger company and massed produced in china) and they turned out to be my least favorite pair.

For another casual shoes... I've really wanted to try the softstar rogues but they are $135 and much more simplistic than these! :greedy: (hand made by small business in the states though so I'd rather support them!)

Its more minimal that say a 25+mm sole with raised heels, cushioned midsoles, molded arches, stability support....

personally of all the factors of the sole to consider, I feel the thickness to be the least important (well within reason) just imo.

Thanks fine. Your feet =/= my feet. You wear what works for you. I'll wear what works for me. :D

As far as price goes, I spent a fair amount on materials with the intention of making my own shoes (before trying the Runamoc Dash). Costs for DIY average out to about $100-150 per pair of shoes at best, not including labor.

Small manufacturers might get a bit of a discount buying in bulk, but they are nowhere near the discounts that large corporations get by manufacturing in foreign countries with cheap labor.

Just try making a shoe yourself for cheaper, and you'll understand! :D

Dress Shoes Don't have to be Uncomfortable. Even if you’ve got a case of the Monday’s, your feet will be showing you much appreciation after slipping on the all full-grain leather oxford. Settle into that cubicle and let your feet relax, for no stylish dress shoe has ever allowed your toes so much room for wiggling and comfort ability. Well here it is you 9 to 5er, the shoe that will make that climb up the corporate ladder a cake walk.
I understand a bit of the history behind specific types of shoes. Although, many shoe styles are worn for fashion, they served certain functions in the past. So, what function does the Nine2Five serve and is it appropriately constructed?

The name and description of this specific shoe indicates that it is targeted towards the office worker, who essentially sits at a desk all day, "settle into that cubicle". (Assuming the corporate ladder is metaphorical.) What, if any, are the requirements for a shoe intended for somone who sits all day? Well, let's look at the office environment, which typically consists of smooth floors or carpet. A very thin soled shoe, slipper, or even barefoot would be reasonable.

9mm is fairly overbuilt for an office environment, from a functional standpoint. The slipperlike Runamoc Dash are perfect.

One might ask, what about the trek to work? Well, then one wears the appropriate footwear. For example, when I lived up North, I wore a pair of Neos overshoes when it precipitated. Now, that I'm in Florida and typically go to work after a swim, it's flipflops.
