Mileage reporting 18th week?

Saturday, the last day of my holiday, so I ran from Emerald Beach to Woolgoolga and back, 14km. I remembered to push it at the 3km mark to triumphantly take second place on the Sandy Beach Strava segment, and then I backed it off and coasted the rest, stopping to pick up the odd seashell for my little one. Felt good. The flight back home was easy, but now I'm back in Victoria where it's ten degrees colder and raining. I'm in for a rude awakening if I run tomorrow.

Today, I had a rest day, and I only just remembered that it is IBRD. Too late to run now, so I think that might be three years running that I have logged a big fat zero on IBRD. Oops!

that happens a lot on the country roads where i run in the morning. no fun. i hate it when they are unneutured pit bulls and there is more than one and i'm waiting for some dude in a mobile home to put down his beer and call for the dogs.

In the past couple of weeks, I have had to pass a few people (mostly women) on a 3-4 foot path who barely had their dogs under control even though they were on a leash. I'm talking about them holding the dogs with both hands on the collar and straining while the dog(s) pull mightily. I usually stop to assess, then pass a bit slowly so that I can keep an eye on their dog and not end up tripping on leashes. These people have had the nerve to be impatient with my caution! They say snippy things like, "He would have done much better if you would just go by quickly." I have tried to nicely say something like, "I'm doing what feels safe for me." all the while thinking, stop complaining, I'm the one with the dog obeying me nicely while your dogs threaten us!

5.4 miles today. 4.1 barefoot miles in a nature preserve this morning, then 1.3 miles in Xeros this afternoon to warm up the legs for 8x10s hill sprints. 25.4 miles for the week, right about where I wanted for the recovery and cutback week following my highest 2-week mileage period ever. Everything is feeling good, but I'm certainly paying attention for the appearance of anything amiss.

Nice 6 mile run at 9:00 am (in the daylight) got a late start up all night (work issues).
66 deg. f., saw some wild life.
Last run of the week for me. Total miles 23.

If I find myself in that situation I usually do a similar thing and say something stupid or funny to the dog like "Don't eat me, big fella" with a big smile on my face. That usually placates the owners, because most dog owners are like parents - when you praise their "kid", it's like a beam of sunshine to them. Sometimes I even play with other peoples dogs while I'm running, but that tends to get a mixed reception. Some people get grumpy with me, probably because they are trying to teach their dog to ignore fools like me, but I just put it down to jealousy. :)

moved closer to the school and went grocery shopping. all bf. in my bf Kenbob shirt. i will shower later then eat and drink all bf as well.

You poor thing. This is what it's come down to? You win the award for "stretching" what counts as mileage reporting! Lol! And please don't list out any barefoot activities that occur after dinner!

it was my biggest barefoot week, with a total of 55 km, and warm feet during the last night
(and 35k with old sandals on rocky trails)

aaah, my progression is so slow, takes so much time to become a Tom Sawyer

No more to add for this week, on docs orders to take it easy for a few days as i've had a mysterious rash, on anti-histamines and getting checked out again on Thursday. Frustrating though! :depressed:

Yikes!

And, how rude, indeed!
I had a lady do that with her pit bull the other day; she was not the boss of that lunging, barking dog, but at least she said a weak "sorry," thereby acknowledging that one's lunging aggressive dog is NOT the only creature with the rights to the road.

I hope you don't run into those folks again.
