I had my mother purchase a pair of Unshoes Wokova Feather sandals for me during their Thanksgiving sale as an early birthday present. I was truly impressed with the way that they do their sizing. You select the size sandal you need and a file is opened that you print off with numerous options on the shape of the sandal. You step on each option and figure out which will fit you the best. The next choice was where you would like the strap that goes between your toes to go. I believe there were nine different spots to pick from.

While I did not realize that they would take several weeks to ship, that is on me. When I gave it some thought, it made perfect sense. I received a notice that my sandals had shipped and waited a couple days before checking the tracking number and realizing that they had not shipped yet. When I contacted Unshoes, I received an email in under an hour apologizing and telling me it was an email that had been auto sent and that he would personally notify me when they were sent. True to his word, within a day or two I received an email that they had been shipped out.

I have never tried on these type of sandals before and no idea what to expect. Once I got them adjusted, I realized that they were a bit too large and slapped a bit when I walked around and even kept folding under in the front. I wore them around for about a week before deciding to enlist Hubby's help in trimming down the fronts. BEST DECISION EVER. These have become my favorite pair of shoes and despite the cold, I have worn them every day over the Christmas holiday. I plan on trying out more styles that they offer in the future.

I had to trim the front of mine too. I'm waiting for warmer weather though before I really put them to test

I've had a pair for 2 yrs now. They have taken a lot of abuse. Aside from the cordura straps fraying really quickly after purchase and making them not look all that fancy after only a few weeks, and of course the long time between ordering and obtaining the shoes (give a month or so----mine was in the summer and about 6 weeks till delivery), they have held up to the abuse. Muddy trails, pavement, beaches and dunes.
I'm going to guess I have a thousand miles on them, in addition to day to day wear.
They look beat up, but they still do the job well.
Also, they are great to slip on and go. My Xeroes always require fussing.

I just wanted to add that on two separate occasions I have had one of the screws come out on my left shoe. It isn't difficult to screw back in but the second time I was in the middle of my run!

I love the customer service I receive from Unshoes. I emailed them last night and heard back today that they would send me new screws. I like this design overall.

Rivets can be permanent, but I don't know about durability.

I wasn't sure if the screws were meant to be removeable to allow for easy resoling or restrapping. Maybe some sort of nylon lock nut?

Yes, the idea was to make it easier to do repairs but it is less practical than a snap for mass production. I'm finding that screws allow for human error. A locking nut sounds good but they need to be low profile enough to be able to set into a sole as thin as 4mm. I really like the Locktite idea though.
