About five weeks ago I trod on a rock while running. was very painful at the time but has left me with a "lump". I notice this when walking, especially barefoot, although its not painful to run on. It seems to be around the knuckle of the fourth toe on the sole of the foot. Any advice?

Thanks Patrick

Ps Also it seems to move as if standing on it then it moves to one side and is fine!

But it doesn't hurt now? Nothing got into your skin that you know of? Something like that might have formed a capsule to try to get rid of it. Did the lump show up right away? Maybe a deep blood blister like thing or scar tissue from the impact? If I had something like that, I would probably try to put direct, semi-massaging pressure on it a couple of times a day, to see if this would loosen it up.

Unfortunately, without seeing and examining this, I cannot give you an intelligent opinion. I would recommend seeing a local podiatrist to get a more informed opinion

Maybe it's a deep bruise that will take some time to heel. :nurse: But yes, please see a doc if it's concerning. :doctor:

Hello Patrick -

I agree with Dr Charschan that without examining your foot it is difficult to give an accurate diagnosis / recommendation.

Probably a scar tissue-related issue, but you always want to be on the safe side!

Good luck -

TY all I have an appointment at my local hospital to have it looked at and will let you all know what the results are :) I seen my GP and he referred me but did mention the possibility of the foot being injected!!! He was thinking its a tendon issue. Thank again everyone and Happy running :)
