Street Sweeper ... It must be Spring

I spied my second street sweeper this week. Ah, it is a sure sign that Spring is upon us. Street sweepers, flocks of Canadian geese heading north, and the return of the red-winged blackbirds are all signs that Spring has arrived to our neck of the woods. I can see half my yard now that the snow is melting away. After six months of freezing temperatures .... Spring is here! :woot:

Streets in need of some real good sweeping round these part.
Little bit of a guilty conscience today when I witnessed som guy driving (from parked) into a small pile of snow/gravel, and actually getting his car stuck, with the front end of the ground. I didn't help coz i was rushing to a meeting. If he's still there when I go back (9 hours later) then I'll help. I'm generally a helpful kinda guy otherwise!

But yes, please clean all streets thanks!

I went for a run the other day on the sidewalks of a local college and had to put my Vibrams on about a mile and a half into the run because of all the salt on the sidewalk. My feet were sore for two days afterwards. Salt=tenderized feet. Great for BBQ, not so much for running barefoot. I'm waiting for a real good rain to rinse all the salt away.

I do prefer sidewalk sweepers instead since I don't run on the streets but that happens by the end of May the earliest if I am lucky.

Let me clarify Zetty, first of where the hills have you being? slacking off from running?
Ok back to the sidewalk sweepers, the city sidewalks are no problem but campus sidewalks are another story.
There is tons of salt/sand on all campus owned trails/sidewalks. The students need to be protected from winter fallings you know?

hahaha.....new job position...means less posting....still running though :)
No mileage changes....(slowly increasing actually)

Second......I'm near Lansing MI.
The MSU campus is kept very clean....of course I never run there for fear of out of control bicycles or motorists.
I've seen too many bikers cream walkers/runners and too many bikers get creamed by cars....
I prefer my running without cream if you konw what I mean :wacky:
