I've been running barefoot for over 17 years. When I started, there was no "Born to Run" or even runningbarefoot.com. There was just my love of running and disdain for wearing shoes. My approach to barefoot running was, therefore, likely to be different from many others. It was something that I hoped I could get away with--something I hoped would not lead to serious injury. Now, I run without shoes most of the time when the weather is warm enough, which is anything 40 degrees or above. Even in Minnesota, that is a good part of the year.
