Runner's high

I wonder if short mesomorphs need the extra stimulation of sole to gravel in order to imbibe in the high?

Just wondering what a runner's high is supposed to feel like.

In general, whenever I engage in physical activity, I get an overall improved sense of wellbeing and improved alertness. I wouldn't say that I feel high, or get a buzz, or feel intoxicated.

Am I missing out on something?
Gotta get off the ditch-weed.
But seriously, I think the effects vary.

For me, it's a sense of euphoria. Can come either from a long aerobic run, or a shorter, tempo-paced run.
I'm about to head out on a long run now in fact.
Yesterday I was getting such a good lifter's pump, that I overdid it, and today I can barely raise my arms.
Maybe there's more morphine in my mesomorphic endorphins, unmerited, to my detriment, than slim shorties'.

It's true that 90% of runners don't experience the "high". Shoes or no shoes it will make no difference, it's an overwhelming feeling you get when everything just connects and it seems like you can run forever without fatigue setting in.
Huh, by that particular definition than I have hit that, but only barefoot or in my Lunas. I don't think I've ever hit that while in normal running shoes as I've always felt like I was fighting the shoes too much.
