New plan.. take it slower, kinda

In a previous post I brought up some feeling inbetween my second and third toes I thought could be nerve related. Starting to believe I may have caused some compression damage to the nerve and it's mimicking the symptoms of a neuroma. While the feeling has greatly subsided, I can feel slight twinges of tingling feeling in that area when I put pressure on the ball of my foot in a pronating motion. I don't think I have a neuroma per se, but further shocks to the nerve could damage it perhaps permanently. That's my best guess so far. So the plan is to take some extra care. I will still do a run tomorrow, but I will wear my Vibrams for the whole time. I am hoping that the irritation was caused by running BF on that evil walking path. Even with good form, the surface was most likely irregular enough (given my lightly conditioned feet) to make that moot, not to mention I'm not exactly a lightweight so I land with quite a bit of force. Hopefully the irritation will pass and I can do walks on the rough walking path bare to condition my foot for later running sans shoes. As much as I want to do my running BF to work on form as early in my training as possible, I will just have to trust in my inner focus to maintain the motions I know to be consistent with good form while I wear my Vibrams.

I hope you start to get better soon and get back to running without pain, whether that be barefoot or in some healthy alternative minimalist running shoes. Good luck! -TJ

Thanks TJ! Been resting it since the weather turned to daily rain. The feeling is like a "funny bone" shooting sensation (no pain), but has now moved from 2nd and 3rd toes to the inside of my big toe, so I am wondering if it might be something farther up the foot. Time will tell. Going to take a BF jog around the block tomorrow on the sidewalks (rain or no rain) and see how it goes. :)
