Minimal Running In Oregon

I have just spent the last two months transitioning into my VFF's. It has been pretty rough, but the pain/discomfort has been worth it. I am now averaging 1.75 to 2.0 miles every time I go out. I usually take a few days off, but have been feeling like my body is being better to me. I stopped running on pavement as much, and I am running on a wood chip trail, with a dirt track nearby. I have in the past had terrible cramping in my right leg, but have tried new things while I run to lessen the severity of the pain. I will start posting my miles and trails that I run.

Yeah- It seems like I was running alot, but just seemed to really be spent. I was running close to 3 miles every other day, but one day I kayaked my local river, and had to walk back in the rain to my put in shuttle. It was only a mile or two, but I ran in my booties, and was amazed at the efficiency, and fun I had. Ever since that day I went out and bought some bikla ls and have been working my way slowly. I can finally feel the dividends paying off. Here is a post of my last workout. Kind of want to use this space as a good journal of my running experiences in Oregon. There is a 15K run in my backwoods coming up- I am not sure if I can do the mileage, but maybe in more of a lightweight neutral shoe.

Like Stomper said, welcome twidmer! We are getting a fun little posse of BF'ers and minimalists together on a semi-regular basis. Join us if you aren't too far from Portland. :)
